Position Summary:


The ideal candidate will have an interest in, and working knowledge of, the contemporary art world, and the ability to speak eloquently to the needs of fundraising in the visual arts.

  • A proven track-record and demonstrable senior level experience managing and overseeing a non-profit entity or division/program with exemplary financial oversight and fundraising accomplishments.

  • Experience in strategy and implementation of annual campaign and/or other development campaigns. Further experience desired in large gift development and donor stewardship.

  • Highly collaborative working style oriented toward team planning and transparent processes, but comfortable with decision making and prioritization.

  • Must have a strong equity lens.

  • A visionary leader with proven track record of bringing ideas and concepts to life in sustainable and equitable ways.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities



  • Ensure that the organization remains in compliance with its non-profit 501(c)3 status, including necessary reporting, financial compliance, external review, and proper use of restricted funding.

  • Develop and maintain a balanced annual budget of approximately $600,000 and monitor fiscal sustainability.

  • Hire, supervise, evaluate, and determine compensation for all staff on the organizational side of STABLE.

  • Oversee lease and make recommendations to Board of Trustees and Artistic Board regarding any potential changes to terms.

  • Ensure receipt of all receivables including STABLE artist dues


  • Lead fundraising efforts through major gifts, annual fund, program support, general operating support, and endowment, cultivating current donors and expanding STABLE’s base of donors.  

  • Nurture ongoing relationships with individuals, foundations, corporations, and government sources to achieve annual income goals of $350,000, contributing to an overall institutional budget of approximately $600,000.

  • Cultivate STABLE’s relationships with key supporters among all these groups, including working closely with the Board of Trustees to maximize fundraising opportunities.

  • Ensure compliance with all deadlines for proposals and funder reporting requirements.

  • Implement all stewardship activities for donors. 



  • Lead Board of Trustees in the strategic planning and implementation of organizational goals, development planning, and financial oversight.  

  • Meetings of Board of Trustees and Executive Committee.

  • Support Director of Arts + Programs in organizing Artistic Board meetings and participate in all Artistic Board.


  • In collaboration with Director of Arts + Programs, align budget and fundraising activities with programmatic goals and organizational mission, and coordinate internal and citywide Open Studios.


  • Serve as public spokesperson for STABLE, advocating in local, regional, and national contexts for STABLE’s values and mission.
