Art Relish

Please join us for STABLE’s second program in the Art Relish series. Panelists Reuben Charles, Amy Bower, and Sheldon Scott, along with moderator Phil Hutinet, will discuss DC’s visual arts landscape in a time of COVID-19 and social crisis. Among many important issues, we hope to bring some focus to the questions of how artists and arts institutions can best serve the public and how members of the public can best support artists and arts institutions at this time.

Each of the panelists plays an important role in the DC area arts ecosystem. Amy Bower is Public Programs Manager at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden; Sheldon Scott an artist and curator; Reuben Charles a prominent collector. Phil Hutinet is publisher of East City Art. We know that sharing their experiences, goals, and challenges will provide a much greater understanding of our area’s intersecting art worlds and the challenges they face.

The aim of the Art Relish series is to offer a behind-the-scenes view of DC area art worlds with the goal of encouraging greater public understanding and participation. The first program was a panel discussion among STABLE artists. Moderated by journalist Kelly Crow of the Wall Street Journal, the participants discussed their daily lives as artists. Future programs will bring together key members of the arts communities in conversations aimed at fostering support for the visual arts.
